The Millhouse Kitchen

It was Sunday afternoon and the afternoon was just warming up. It was about 1:00 and we were taking my grandparents out to lunch. My nana is gluten free as well as me and my dad. When we arrived we were seated at a table with a splendid view overlooking the vineyards. We were excited and hungry! My sisters ordered and so did my mom and my gramps. When it came for the gluten free people to order there was not a wide variety of choice on the menu. After much debate I asked our waitress to go check if the burgers with out a roll were gluten free. She came back to say there were no breadcrumbs in them and they were indeed gluten free.

I hadn't had a burger for quite a while and I was starving by then so I ordered one and so did my nana. When the burgers (without any rolls) came. Jaws ready to dive in. But then my mom said: "hold on, what's on top of it?" And of all things it was an onion fried in flour. We had to send the burgers back to get new ones and by that time I was starving and it was not enough to fill me up. Over all the waitressing staff did not have good knowledge of celiacs and the chef did not know what he was doing although when we booked on the phone, he assured us he knew exactly what he needed to do.
